Is this worth watching?
Without spoiling anything, yes or no? What made you enjoy it? What season did you really get into it? Will I see Hendricks titties? I'm talking fully topless, none of this cleavage shit.

shareI think it's worth watching, but then, it's the kind of thing I like watching. You have to decide for yourself.
I don't recall full nudity. Is that a deal breaker?
Not a deal breaker but I was hoping to see a nice pair. I might give it a shot this summer when I don't have that many current shows.
shareIf you are old enough to remember what things were like in the early 60's to the early 70's you might enjoy it simply for the nostalgia. After about two or three shows, you are really sucked into these character's lives.
Great cast of characters
Costume and Hair well done!
Great music of the day!
Be warned...... there was a whole lotta smoking going on back then. It's a time warp so you may go into culture shock.
I'm 31 but I've always though the 60s were a kickass decade. Probably check it out.

I remember the '60s and '70s (and even some of the '50s), and "Mad Men" is a caricature that doesn't really evoke the period realistically. It's mostly a collection of cliches. It's probably more fun for people who don't remember that time.
It's a TV-14 show... a "harder" TV-14, but TV-14 nonetheless.
So you won't necessarily see certain aspects that you may have been hoping for as expressed in your original post.
its cool. i can see tits anywhere else on the internet. thanks though, still might watch one day. see how the acting/storytelling is.
shareIf you are so into titties, I have a feeling the show is not for you. It also isn't structured like other shows. I loved it, but I can also see why some people wouldn't like it either.
sharethe titty comment was originally a joke although i am curious about what her body looks like naked. how is it structured?
shareIt's more about characters and not so much about storylines. The characters move the story along and a lot of shows are self contained while other shows are a part of a longer story arc. There are stories that you think will lead somewhere and they never do and then there are stories that are more serialized in nature. It's a great show and the main characters are fascinating. Then there are characters who are featured regularly, then disappear, only to reappear at a later time. There usually aren't any cliff hangers between seasons and something shocking things can happen at anytime. Also, it is sometimes a shock to the viewer how women were treated back then.
shareI loved Mad Men and hopefully will gladly watch it again.
A lot is left unsaid while viewing it. There always seems to be more going on than what you are simply seeing, people living lives of quiet desperation while were they simpler folk, they'd be productive and satisfied at what they've achieved.
And depending on the season, there is obvious, subtle humor on how these people act.
One spoiler is how the Drapers go on a picnic, and they leave whatever trash they've generated out in the open for the Park personnel to take care of, beer cans in the bushes, paper plates shaken out on the grass. Hilarious !
I went on plenty of picnics in the 1960s, and I didn't know anybody who left their cans and paper plates lying around. There were pigs then, just as there are now, but it certainly didn't characterize that period. If anything, parks were neater and cleaner then than they are today.
shareI'm sure you are right, but at the same time, I'm not sure people shared that Big Picture environmental viewpoint we have today. Aluminum cans were thrown away, and parks seemed to have personnel around to tidy up what some of the picnickers left behind. We still have that, but while environmental awareness has increased, I believe a certain amount of despair and pointed apathy has also.
Mostly, it's just a funny scene.
Yes it is.
