... a movie with a title like this would be a downer.

I enjoy this film, it left an impact with me and it was quite a ride to see this story unfold.
In a way you are right, the ending was not wrapped up in a nice bow where everyone innocent is okay. The Hume family suffered a terrible price along with those gang members. I still think that Nicholas Hume did other families a favor by taking out this drug pedaling murder initiation gang. He saved more lives by seeking revenge and ultimately sacrificing most of his own family in the process.
