How many of you here saw the show without having seen BSG?
If you never saw Battlestar Galactica, what was it about Caprica that piqued your interest to watch it? Just curious to read the responses.

shareI'm part of the group that just moved on to Invasion: Earth (you're welcome to join us there, by the way) and I was the one who nominated Caprica for our group, even though I've never seen a single episode of BSG.
It's on Netflix, and I came across it while browsing for shows. I watched a few minutes of the pilot, and could readily see the high production values. After reading a couple of general descriptions of the series, it sounded like it would be an interesting concept, how this advanced society inadvertently creates its own downfall.
Unfortunately, I think the writers lost focus after three or four episodes and never quite got it back. I think it could very well have stood on its own, without having to appeal only to the BSG crowd. But poor execution doomed it, IMO.
I only saw the 78 show. I ran across it on my netflix account and then the group voted to watch it. I always liked the original show and thought this might be interesting. Nothing what I expected.

I watched this and had never seen Battlestar, mostly because of the non main cast actors drew me in: Peter Wingfield, Christopher Heyerdahl, Ryan Robbins and James Marsters.
shareHow do I join one of these watching groups?
shareMy condolences to all who watched this before BSG....what were you thinking!!!

I was driving home from a looooooooong road trip (10+ horus) and my friend had this on his flash drive. I watched the first episode and was like: "VR club, Adamas, stuff, SOLD!" and I watched 5-6 consecutive episodes before going the whole series the past two days.
