So the Cafe Diem dude IS gay?

lol, not that it wasnt extremely obvious, but I just saw the finale and they at least addressed it finally, when he saw Will Wheatons package and smiled and made some point about liking what he saw. I can see them writing the finale and thinking ok, its over we have to admit the man is flaming in some way.

That pretty much sums up what I thought.

They addressed it a loooooong time ago, like season 3, I think? Jack put on Zoe's interactive holographic therapy thingy and got trapped in an imaginary Eureka where everyone kept disappearing. Jo disappeared first, and Carter goes to Cafe Diem and asks if anyone's seen Jo his deputy, and Vincent says something like "no, is he cute?"

That's true . For some reason I took it as more of a joke about him being confused about the gender of the "unknown" person named Deputy Jo.

reply

Yes, but not too many totally straight men would immediately ask "is he cute?"

It didnt need addressing as it was soooo obvious he's flaming. I never thought it even possible that he was straight

What I was always curious about was since they're gonna go ahead and put an obviously gay character on the series, which is absolutely fine who cares, why wouldn't they go ahead and give him a love interest? I guess they didn't want to go down that particular path as it might be too distracting from the subject matter, but everyone else had a significant other, or two, or three. It's probably not worth wondering about now with the show being off and all, but I've always wondered about that.

Just cuz u think my opinions r wrong Still doesn't mean You're right. Stupid trollz...

He wasn't really a well developed character that waranted being partnered up. But i liked the guy for the small pits he did play.

reply

As some one else mentioned, it was implied much earlier.

My only problem with it was that he was such a stereotype. The writers seem to break a lot of other boundaries, why not that one?

reply

When the guy plants a kiss on Beverly in the Cafe there are comments made by others about "always wanting to do that" and Vincent says "Even I've thought about doing that!" the implication was 100% clear. I think that was the first outright addressing of it.

did anyone else catch the Holly and Vincent line right before

"And he's really a robot"
"You'd never guess it right?"

Attention: you have just been hadoukened

I was disappointed, in that I think they played him like a fag from day 1. We all know that queers are like everyone else, but they just buttered him up into the stereo-typical homo.

He can't get girls, so he has gone the gay route. He needs a little patience. I think he could find what he is looking for.
