Gotta admit, the first seasons I really disliked him. So smug. So controlling. But, man, they gave him a great sendoff. I still get teary. Down deep, he was an okay guy. (Tax refund time, splurged on the seasons I was missing.)
Miss this show so much.

I hated Stark for upstaging Jack all the time, but the two also had a fantastic banter. Made me laugh every time. He was spectacular in Ex-Files when they got to play with that banter one last time.
I never did like Allison falling for Stark again. He was much too full of himself to be worth it.
Rather like a friend who is involved with someone who leaves all of us scratching or heads, he must have had something to recommend him between episodes, lol.
I do like the fact that the last episode (except for Ex-files), where he dies to save everyone, still makes me cry. I argued with a friend, " I don't want to like him! I should be glad he's gone!" Saving the planet is a good way to wipe out past sins, lol.

I took the opposite position. I love Nathan for putting Jack in his place and as for allison I saw Nathan as a challenge whereas for Jack she have to come down to his level
share
