Seriously ?

Mirrors on the moon ?!?!?

1. They are SMALL HAND MIRRORS. They cant reflect enough energy to give a single person a mild sunburn without getting vaporized themselves. And that sunburn is without the losses due to the atmosphere of the earth in between TWICE before the light actually can hit anything.

2. And for the record - even if these mirrors would be SUPER SUPER HUGE and the technology for lasers would be so advances we could destroy cities with them - - these mirrors work in a way THAT THEY REFLECT ANY LIGHT BACK TO THE SOURCE (mirrors at 90 degrees to each other - no matter from which point on earth you aim, the light will fall back to your position. Thats what they're ment for - you sent light at them from earth and measure the returning light, thus you are able to measure the exact distance of your position to these mirrors.

This is on the level of stupidity of Zack on The Big Bang Theory. Pointing lasers at the moon wont destroy the moon because the laser was set to stun. Thats the level of stupidity.

This is Eureka - a place where there have been scientific breakthroughs are in everyday use decades before they are released to the public.

It is a series that relies heavily on the suspension of disbelief.

That aside - it is possible to redirect light using mirrors - a slight change of angle will result in a change in direction of the reflected light

Not if its two mirrors in a 90 degree angle towards each other. The mirrors on the moon will always reflect light back to the source. That was the whole point of placing them there.

VERY heavily.

For example, 03x07 has a sun just a kilometer above Eureka. THey say its "save" but a nuclear fusion would actually create massive x-ray radiation, just like it does in the core of the sun, and wouldnt create any visible light by itself at all.

The only reason why we get light from the sun is that the x-rays get absorbed and heat up the sun. To millions of degrees in the suns core and to about 6000 degree Kelvin on the surface. Which is why the sun shines.

So a fusion in the open ? Would kill any life close to it quite quickly thanks to the massive x-ray radiation - and the only way visible light would be created would be if the x-rays are intensive enough to heat up the air itself to something like a thousand degree Kelvin or more.

Which is by the way how nuclear bombs create their initial "fireball" - it is caused by intensive x-ray radiation thats heating up the air to thousands of degrees.

A nuclear explosion in space however would not emit much visible light at all.

Neither would a fusion out in the open.
