Quite the opposite. I find the American redneck accent to be like nails on a chalk board sometimes too.
Hundreds of Australian actors and actresses like Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman, Melissa George, Chris Hemsworth, Margot Robbie, Teresa Palmer, Rose Byrne, Anna Torv, Cate Blanchett etc have all had to learn how to fake an American accent 'cause Americans like you can't seem to handle anybody existing in a movie that isn't American and you make a lot of British, Asian, European and even Canadian actors do the same thing. I agree it is getting old and Australian actors shouldn't have to fake accents to get roles in Hollywood.

You state "quite the opposite" like it's some sort of fact. It's your opinion and it happens to be contrary to a vast majority of the world. Look it up, there have been polls asking what country has the most annoying accent and Australia is right up there with those South African countries.
American southern accents from certain states are pretty horrible but Texas isn't bad for example. I think we're all very tired of Ausies taking American roles though. All their women look EXACTLY the same: boring.
