one part i dont get...

when the cute girl was punched in the face and then suffocated...when jack came to the scene of the crime and then the cop suspects him...

how are the bad guys just down the road and turn it into a chase...

they should have been long gone.

also...the end....the police chief. the black guy...is dead with a bunch of criminals...

how do you explain that?

reply

Did you miss the part where Reacher said that the black cop was working with the bad guys?

reply

1) The killers were waiting around, to make sure Reacher showed up and was caught.

2) The Black Cop was working with the bad guys. It was he that Kidnapped the Defense Attorney. And he was with the bad guys in the rock Quarry.

It was very VERY Obvious and a major plot point of the film.
You must have been asleep, gone to the bathroom, or have a very very low cognitive ability to follow a basic story plot.

Not getting that the Cop was one of the bad guys and not understanding why he was dead with the bad guys in the end....

Is like watching Titanic and not understanding why the Ship was sinking and completely ignoring that it ever hit an iceberg.

you are misinterpreting me.... sorry for not knowing character names..i knew the black guy was in on it by the end..i must have missed something. But in hindsight since jack had the car and the girl was killed i can see how that was all a set up now.

I think it was stupid for the criminals to wait around (but it had the chase scene..seemed way to convenient)

and if jack didnt care about how the story was told in the end how are you going to explain all the dead people..detectives aren't that stupid, especially with all the machine guns laying around.

ALSO: in the beginning the sniper framed for the job was conveniently handcuffed on his bed but no explanation that he was drugged or anything. he looked like he was passed out on his bed. that should have been a bit odd to the regular cops and for the guy framed.

its just another stupid action flick . I just had nothing better to do then to nitpick it. Pitsburg seems like a chill place though. I might move there.

reply

The car chase wasn't in the book, so they had to do anything to introduce it.

The ending of the book didn't have a big shoot-out, only 3 or 4 dead people.

Both of those scenes, while nicely shot, were dumb and put in for Cruise's sake.

Then are than are different words and not interchangeable. I'd say that the fact that you don't know that, as well as not being able to remember stuff from the film correctly, add up to YOU being stupid, not the movie.

Don't be such an assclown. I guess it makes you feel big and smart to call someone stupid.

There's also a big difference between the words "are" and "and". But apparently you were too busy being condescending to realize that you screwed that up. Does that make you "stupid" too?

reply

Mine is a simple typo that would have been fixed in seconds except that the app wont let me edit.

The confusing of then and than is now an epidemic. You're on the Internet. Look about.

No educated person - even on a basic level - will confuse those words.

So is ARE and AND.

When you highlight someone's mistake, make sure you don't do the same in doing so.
It just makes YOU look like a tool.

The movie doesn't say. In my opinion they just wanted to keep an eye on the situation from afar to make sure it goes down the way they want and they were going to report to the "Zec" what happened. The cop was in on it but I'm going to assume he didn't have direct contact with the Zec, not tell the end. The sniper/assassin he was the one who would communicate on the phone with the Zec.

At the end, I assume the lawyer will fill them in on everything. Lebendauer Enterprises, the Zec...everything from A to Z, from start to finish.

The part I don't get is why the bad guys went to such extraordinary lengths to frame Barr, took care of so many details, yet allowed him to live. That's one huge loose end.
They should have killed Barr in an apparent suicide and no-one would even think to question it.

Silly film.
Watchable but nonsense.

reply

Harder to stage a suicide than a murder. In addition, they knew he had mental issues and that framing him would keep the attention on what happened instead of what they were trying to do.
