One YEAR To Release on DVD?

Was it because it didn't get good reviews?

"You ever dance with the devil by the pale moonlight?"
M. Night Shyamalan, Christopher Nolan rock!

No its because its a Christmas Movie. Christmas movies wait until the following Christmas to come out, that way people would be in the mood to get them. If they sold them during the summer people might not buy them. The Only real exception was Surviving Christmas which came out in October and came out that Christmas.

Yeah, they did the same thing with "Elf" in '03 (DVD released one year later, November '04).

reply

Yeah, it happens with holiday movies: Elf, The Santa Clause (2 & 3), Polar Express, etc...

yeah. 1 year release is normal for Christmas movies.
I'm sure many people will join me in assuming no one wants to rush out to buy a Christmas movie during summer...

DeathsDesign, if you are referring to last year's remake of Black Christmas, it actually came out on DVD in early April, only a few months after it's release date.

reply

Oh OK. I only said that because it actually came out in the UK (where I live) just now- Christmas :)
