You should read the 'triva' section (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0790604/trivia). They used LEDs and the power consumption was next to nill.

"At maximum intensity, the 14,300 LED nodes used just 7,150 watts of energy, the equivalent of four average hair dryers"

Have you hugged a tree today?

Um most lights are low voltage these and use very little energy, so stick that in your footprint and carbon it.

Al Gore's house in Nashville uses 12 times as much energy as other houses in the area.

It also encourages:

1. Stealing from your neighbors.
2. Damaging your neighbors property.
3. Increasing your debt to a point you can't realistically pay it back.
4. Harass and inconvenience your neighbor just so you can have the best Christmas lights.
