Is that Kal Penn who plays Amit Sayid in the control center or whatever that's trying to see the house from space? I tried to look it up on here and in the credits, but the character is not listed on either.

I can confirm that Kal Penn was in this movie. I've sent the info of him playing the "Amit Sayid" character to IMDB last night and it should show up in a few days.

I know the movie was a pile of crap but you'd think that even a little bit of research would go into character names. "Amit Sayid"? Amit is a Hindu first name but Sayed sounds like a muslim last name. Highly, highly unlikely combo. You can just picture the writers saying "Yeah, that sounds ethnic. It'll do."
You might as well have a Jewish character called Rashid Ali Cohen. Not likely.
