Rank the 10 official Disney princesses in terms of popularity with the g

Rank the 10 official Disney princesses in terms of popularity with the general public. This is my opinion:

1.)Cinderella- She is pretty much seen as the "leader" of the princesses and a huge icon for Disney. I have never seen princess merchandise that doesn't include her plus she has a ton of solo merchandise herself. Her fairy tale is the most famous/iconic as well.

2.)Ariel- It was close between her and Cindy but Cindy wins by hair or so. Still she is very popular and might have the most solo merchandise of all the princesses. She is the most relate able princess in terms of her situation.

3.)Rapunzel- She has become very popular. Disney did a great job with her story never thought much of the original fairy tale but they did a great job with it.
She is very similar to Ariel in her situation so that makes her relate able as well.

4.)Belle- I think Rapunzel has beat Belle in terms of popularity but she is still very popular.

5.)Aurora- She is very popular because she wears pink most little girls favorite color. Plus I have heard a lot of people say she is the most beautiful and princessy looking of them all.

6.)Tiana- She is pretty popular and seems to have taken the token minority role from Jasmine. She is definitely a strong character!

7.)Jasmine- She has always stood out in the line up because she is not the title/main character in her film and only sings a duet. She has always come and gone on the merchandise and like I said Tiana is featured more than her now. But she is still very popular and I know a lot of black and Indian girls love her.

8.)Mulan- Despite her not appearing on a lot of merchandise she is a very popular character and a lot of people like her.

9.) Snow White- She appears on and has a lot of merchandise but I don't think the majority of people care too much for her. But she is the first princess so they can not have her in the line up.

10.) Pocahontas- A lot of people blame her film for ending the Disney Renaissance and her design is so different than the other ladies so she is featured the least on merchandise.

That's my opinion lol I am bored with nothing to do atm so I came up with this list. What is everyone else's thoughts/opinions?

Great post, and I agree w/ many of your points. I totally agree that Pocahontas is the least favorite for the exact reasons you stated, which is unfortunate cuz she's my favorite--I love American History, and I love how she's an athletic and independent woman. She could kick all the other princesses' butts. Also, the movie was more "serious" and less fun, so her popularity suffered with fans.

I disagree about Snow White being so low though. I think her, Cinderella, and Aurora--all the "classic" princesses from the older Disney era, are pretty popular. They're just hard to argue against. Snow White was the first, and her story is still very popular. Cinderella is the "quintessential" girly princess, and also a popular story. Aurora is more of the "glamorous"/classy princess, which is appreciated.

I agree--Ariel is the most likable of the modern Disney era, cuz she's so spunky and headstrong. Belle is popular for being dignified and strong and deep, with her story. Jasmine is sexy, lol.. and exotic. I totally agree that Mulan has managed to be well-liked, prolly cuz of her "tough girl" warrior status... and it was a likable movie.

I agree that Tiana is gaining the lead in the "most popular ethnic princess". Sorry, that's a terrible title to invent, ha. Her sensible, career-oriented personality and more modern setting (1920s), gives her contemporary edge. I personally don't like Rapunzel much, cuz the songs in her movie were boring--but I do think she's doing well. She's likable, if not memorable. But it's too early to tell.

Back to Pocahontas--she suffered from a weaker movie, so fans aren't too keen on her. But she's definitely of the most exotic, strongest, and most beautiful princesses.

Ariel....of course I literally know no girl who is not obsessed with her but me.
Belle...same better than Ariel but still a damsel in distress and kind of a snot.
Cinderella next...of course, she's every white girl's dream.
Rapunzel... duh. Yet another adorbz little blonde haired spunky heroine, what else is new. Hey at least she's feminist.
Mulan... she's a ballbusting POC, who wouldn't like her? Sure she's a fraidycat who lets people push her around but she totally makes up for it later being awesome.
Tiana... girl deserves all the love she gets. She's capable, intelligent, and a strong woman of color who doesn't let nobody tell her what to do. Sadly though she is less popular than the first 4 for not being a cute little white girl.
Jasmine...always my second favorite growing up. She's sultry and knows how to use her body to get what she wants and is strong, smart and not afraid to tell you where to stick it.
Merida... underrated too. She's got a mouth, she doesn't need a guy to fulfill her and wants control over her own life.
Pocahontas... most underrated ever. My fave growing up and is sadly put on the backburner because she's not a typical blue-eyed blonde with a heart shaped face and small boobs who just wants to get married. She's strong and wise and fears nothing but hatred. She's a role model.
Snow White... dang everyone seems to hate this wench. She's not my favorite either but easily the best of the original 3 because she runs that cottage like a boss and takes control of her situation imeddiately, she was pretty feminist for her day when women were supposed to STHU and cook.
Aurora... who? Lol. Nobody likes her, she's a fairy tale blonde who just sits around singing and letting her life be lived for her.

i agree with most of your rankings but dude, what is your DEAL? why do you hate white girls so much?

did Cinderella pee in your cheerios or something? did Aurora make a racial slur in her sleep??

You're hideous and sexy!

I love when racists say they love Poca... because, you know... the point of the movie was prejudice is BAD.

It's like how sexists gush about how great Mulan is... while praising her ONLY as Ping and bashing the girier princesses.

Or feminists bashing the classic 3 but pretending Belle, Jasmine, Rapunzel and pretty much all of them aren't damsels or at least magically never need help.

We're collecting dust, but our love's enough.

i changed the subject title because many of the disney females weren't princesses.

1) Cinderella (there is no point in arguing)
2) Snow White (the first feature length animated movie ever)
3) Belle (everyone loves the smart girl
4) Mulan (there's just something about her, and the movie was great)
5) Ariel (while she probably should b in the 4th place for popularity, i feel as if people dont like her as much as Mulan)
6)Jasmine (one of the prettiest and most independent of the Disney crew)
7) Jane from Tarzan
8) Esmerlda from Hunchback (gorgeous and memerable to the ones who've actually watched the movie)
9) Tianna from Princess and the Frog (relateable)
