Lawrence from this movie + Nathaniel from 'Enchanted' the same character

Aren't they? Short, fat, pompous, spinless, henchmen who do the bidding for both the handsome Princes and the villains? Perhaps that was done on purpose to have something to tie this movie in with Enchanted OR Disney just recycled this character because of lack of originality?

P.S. I'm sorry if this one of those threads that someone makes every 5 minutes, I don't frequent this board very often but I recently rewatched both Enchanted and Princess and the Frog and only now did I catch this so...yeeeah.

its just a stock character that is easy to fit into a film

They are similar, but not exactly identical.

Exactly, it is a stock character and frankly it helps the movie. A movie should focus on developing the main stars before worrying about a character who isn't very important to the film. All Lawrence needed to be was a disgruntled employee.

In the end though, Nathaniel denounced his affiliation with the queen and exposed her evil. Lawrence never renounced his actions.
