Why is Naveen turned into a frog?

I understand what Dr. Facilier is doing, tricking everyone to get what he wants and such. But there's something I don't understand. When he makes promises to people, he always fulfills them, although in a strange way (for example, the bald man who asked for hair, got hair all over his body, but finally got hair).

So, what happened with Naveen? Facilier promised him that he would be rich again, but then he is turned into a frog (which Facilier uses to fulfill Lawerence's wish as well as his own purposes).

So, does that mean that Facilier blatantly lied to Naveen? Or did he actually use some words that could be misunderstood in his advantage?

Listen to the song, "It's the green, it's the green, it's the green you need...and when I looked into your future it's the green that I see!". He never technically said Naveen would be rich again, he just said that "the green" would be in his future. Obviously the green can be money, but it's plays on words that make Dr. Facilier good at what he does.

If everything is not all rainbows and kittens for you today, hopefully it will be tomorrow!

Thanks! I guess I missed those lyrics.

Words that could be misunderstood, I think.

I think Dr. Facilier says something like 'it's the green, it's the green you need, and in your future, it's the green that I see', now this is something that could misinterpreted to mean Naveen would have been getting some money which would have helped in his position as a Prince. It was also very vague so it easily meant that he could also have been turned into a frog, which has also to do with green.

He starts the verse with "You just wanna be free, hop from place to place. But freedom takes green!" Perfect description of a frog!
