This film has a dedicated fan base, much like many Disney films. It is a shame that it didn't catch on as well as it should have. More people were interested in Avatar at the time and many who saw it were underwhelmed. I definitely never understood the common complaint of this movie being "too complicated" or "convoluted", nonsense complaints like that make me believe a special Disney grading scale really does exist.
Did John Lasseter of Pixar fame really lie his butt off and PRETEND this was an attempt to rive the classic Disney animation style, while he really supposedly only greenlit it to "shut [us] stupid idiots up about [our] precious 2d artform"? If I didn't know any better I'd say that was the case! Biased bastard!!! >:(
What do you think Lasseter is, a Bond villain? It's like you are picturing him sitting on a golden throne in a massive mansion stroking his fat cat. Jokes aside, I don't think anyone in Disney thinks like this. Only the public can revive 2D animation in America and they didn't support this or Winnie the Pooh enough.
This film is AWESOME!!! I even got the German DVD of this film (along with "Tangled" and "Pocahontas") and it sounds AWESOME dubbed in German! Especially German!Tiana (Cassandra Steen) joining Nee-Yo in a DUET of "Never Knew I Needed" in the end credits!
Yes, the film is awesome, one of my top ten for Disney. I've never watched any Disney film in another language, sounds like an interesting experience.
So c'mon, people! Give this movie more love! :D No matter WHAT Lasseter(!!!) wants you to do... >:/
It's fans give it plenty of love. And I'm sure all Lasseter really wants is for people to enjoy the films that Disney and Pixar release, this one included.
Don't make me take off my shoe!
