Nice homage to Thief

Nice homage to Michael Mann's Thief. Love the 1980s vibe and the way this film was shot. So cinematic.

From the very opening scene, the 80s inspired sound track, the way the whole scene plays out with little dialogue and minor set up, it's so good... sucks you right into the movie...

I liked that... I think the film captures LA well... at least the fact that it's such a car oriented city...

It also shows heavy influences of The Driver, right down to its opening scene.

The Walter Hill movie? I'll have to watch that one again

Robert Prosky and Albert Brooks both played avuncular heavies who were horrifyingly homicidal when need be.

Immediately I was reminded of To Live and Die in LA when I began watching Drive. The soundtrack and graphics seemed to echo that film, and movies that are based in L.A. just have a look about them.

Pretty good comparison
Loved both films
I liked Driver a bit more
To Live is a great one tho...
