Watching the movie at the time of its release, I felt Isaac was the standout actor, making a sympathetic character (as intended) out of someone who was initially viewed as a scumbag and a roadblock for the main character. Years later, it's now Isaac who seems to be poised to take over Hollywood. Good for the guy.
shareYes, Isaac is increíble in this. When they start talking about him at the beginning of the film you have this preconceived notion of him. Oh a convict, violent, absentee father bla bla bla
But then he appears on scene and brings a lot of humanity to his character. I really felt sorry for him in the end.
I really liked the character. At first you can tell he's hesitant and defensive about the driver being around his girl. But he soon realises he's not a bad guy and acts accordingly.
