What do you think happened to Jean 20 years into the future?

In Professor X's timeline they stated that all the telepaths had been killed and assuming that Emma never had the chance to stop the Phoenix from re-entering Jean, how could she have been killed by anything? I mean, she was the most powerful mutant with Phoenix, wasn't she?
And how come Apocalypse or anybody else didn't try and stop the whole Master Mold thing so they could take over the world? Why was it only after they successfully stopped the Sentinels from taking over the world that Apocalypse took over it? And it was very obvious that Jean would have killed everything in her way. Why didn't Master Mold try and kill her, which would be near to impossible? Did she just kill everybody then take off and leave Earth or what?

Another potential plot hole?

I guess it's possible that Jean simply left Earth and went into deep space to do her Phoenix/Dark Phoenix thing and that's where she remained at the time of the big bad future.
