Xavier going out of his way to introduce Scott to Jean...

In the flashbacks of "Breakdown" we see Xavier go out of his way to introduce Scott Summers/Cyclops to Jean Grey/Marvel Girl/Phoenix when they're both roughly 16 and before she officially started attending his school. Anyone else find that just a little suspicious? The least disturbing theory I can offer is that Xavier figured "Poor dumb kid'll probably never get laid on his own, I might as well set him up with somebody."

he is psychic, he probably sensed their attraction to each other but they had nervous reservations about acting on it, so he played cupid and made the first and hardest step for them by introducing them to each other.
