The best point this movie made.

How the wife made an excuse every time he wanted sex. If you're not going to give him sex then allow him to get it somewhere else. A man has needs. That should be in the marriage agreement.

Truer words have never been spoken.

I'm a woman and I agree whole-heartedly. You HAVE to have sex in your marriage. It's non-negotiable.

I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen.

reply

Yeah, well, easy to say. Harder to do. There's an emotional component to a sexual relationship that is just as important as the physical component. If you want an unenthusiastic partner for sex, just 'demand' your rights and insist that someone who is turned off by your attitude deliver sexual satisfaction to you.

You'll get a vehicle for your sexual pleasure. Yeah, good luck with thinking that helps your marriage.

reply

Men don't tie there emotions into sex like women do so the whole concept of "an emotional component to a sexual relationship" is void. If that were true than men wouldn't cheat on their wives.

reply

That's a generalization. Many women can turn off emotion as well and many women cheat as well.

Don't think you speak for the entire gender, not all of us are rutting pigs.

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

If there's no emotional component, why be married? And if there is an emotional component, why shouldn't there be a physical relationship? There are many facets to a marriage and the intimate one is just as important as any other.

it is in some marital agreements - in the Catholic Church conjugal duties are considered an essential obligation and failure to fulfill is grounds to invalidate (annullment)

I've noticed if a woman stops being interested in sex, it usually means she's no longer interested in me and it's time to move on. But also it goes both ways, a woman needs sex too, making my first point even more valid. The same rule OP had about men should apply to women also!

Of course it should apply to women also. The main problem with marriage is both people should be honest before and during marriage about what they want.Instead of being honest they just cheat.Unfortunately most people that go into marriage think its some Disney fairytale and all they need is love.
