One thing I found interesting in this movie was the soundtrack. Maybe I am wrong about this but I don recall music by white artists especially rock gin modern day movies where the main charcaters are black.

What? There are plenty of black films with music from white artists (some of whom are R&B or hip-hop artists anyway---nothing unusual about that. You obviously haven't watched enough of them. It was really nice to hear an old favorite that I live called "The World I Know" by Canadian artist Esthero, plus "The Seed 2.0" by Cody Chestnutt & The Roots, and the classic "The Look Of Love".
Also, a lot of black folks (like myself) listen a lot more than just R & B and hip-hop and jazz---some of us love rock 'n roll (which was invented by black folks anyway,lol.)
Chris Rock is as much a fan of rock as he is of hip-hop. He inducted Red Hot Chili Peppers into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, after all.
Also, it was nice hearing a Foo Fighters deep-cut played prominently in the film. Well done.
Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.
