Day Zero: Elijah Wood in one of his best performances

Elijah shows again that he's an excellent actor, and he is the stand-out in this movie. Like many reviews say, Elijah carries the film, doing it flawlessly. He portrays writer Aaron Feller, with his insecurities and his fears and funny moments too. He goes through a wide range of feelings, making the viewer feel like he does.
I'd say this is his best performance after Lord Of The Rings's Frodo and The War's Stu Simmons.

That's the reason I am so keen to see it. Yes, others who have seen it have also said it's one of his best performances. If it's as good as he was as Frodo then it will be v well worth seeing.

Elijah Woods BEST performance to date? Give me a break......... His acting in this movie was mediocre at best. The Good Son was a better job than this crap film.

It's obvious from the other comments of this poster (user 9699) that he is a pro-war obsessive who (wrongly) thinks this film is anti-war - ie he doesn't understand the film. Therefore his remarks can be discounted. In any event they are just the opinion of one person - a person who appears to know v little about films or acting. That is also apparent from his posting history.

As indicated in a large number of user reviews here (and elsewhere) and in external reviews, Elijah is the stand-out in an excellent cast, and the acting is the best feature of the film.

I agree that this is one of Elijah's best roles. He inhabits the character easily and evokes an amazing amount of sympathy.

Yeah - and that's what the most recent review say.
