So I don't know numbers that well but Day Zero is in 5th place for theater averages right behind 27 Dresses.
It goes like this:
Cloverfield: $12,019
Persepolis: $9,366
There Will Be Blood: $8,023
27 Dresses: $7,336
Day Zero: $6,350
I believe that is good. I mean, for only 2 theaters making $12,700 (ESTIMATED) is good.
Thanks for pointing this out. We're proud of what we achieved in our opening weekend in limited release. More is always better of course :) but at the end of the day to come in 5th place of all films on a per-screen basis is something we can hold our heads up high about.

For the three day weekend it made $12,070. A $6,035 per theater.
For the four day weekend it made $13,800. A $6,900 per theater.
Just saying, it might have been better if the distributors released it last week or the weekend before. Going up against Cloverfield was a bad move IMO.

I go to Cherry hill for Monster Mania. It is less than an hour from me. It is awesome. So many people this year.
Really? I have one theater like that. It just opened last year and called SOPAC (South Orange Performing Arts Center). It has a stage for events and 5 screens for movies. Not limited ones, big released ones but since it is new the seats are new and they give you giant amounts of leg room and big cushions.
