Hmmm.... one week?

Today is Friday. I was just flipping through the movies section and realized when I got the back that I didn't see some films like Day Zero and Sweeney Todd for example. But then I went to the schedule part and went to the Angelika theater and Day Zero was not playing. Was it already taken out?

But I don't think it did very bad. $6,000 + is a lot for one theater

You're right - it did well. It was fourth at the BO for indies, not at the bottom.
But they seem to have decided only to show it for one week - it wasn't related to the takings, I don't think.

Unfortunately we had the bad fortune of running during the week where they announce the oscar nominations. Every single one of the other films playing (Persepolis, Diving Bell, The Savages, and Taxi To The Dark Side - the last which we actually outperformed on opening weekend) were nominated for one or more oscars.

Not much chance they would've kept us given the way the nominations came out.

Thanks again to everyone who came out in support of the film. We're exploring the possibility of the film playing at other art houses between now and the DVD release in late Feb but nothing is set as of yet.
