Why the switch from Doyle to Khonji?

Christopher Doyle and Wong Kar Wai have a long history of working together making some of my favourite filmls of all time. Why now the switch in cinematographers? The trailer looks like its an emulation of the Doyle cinematography rather than the real look?

After the long process of '2046' that took MANY years to film, Doyle had it with Wong and called their professional relationship off.

is that really legit? They asked Wong Kar Wai at the Apple Store last night and he just talked about how they worked so well together after 15 years and seemed to speak very positive about him and that he and Khonji had shot a commercial together.

Maybe he wasn't available.

Doyle said at one point that he was fed up with Wong Kar-Wai and wouldn't work with him anymore, and then later that they were just having the equivalent of a lover's spat and would work again in the future. The former case has precedents, like when Toshiro Mifune left the Kurosawa fold after Red Beard kept him working on a single film for years, making it impossible for him to take other work during that time. But given the way Doyle is it's fairly likely he just wanted a break and they'll work together again in the future.

Doyle has been doing a lot of other (American) films too. I wonder if that has something to do with it. Hopefully he gets a taste of working with someone else and comes back. That'd be nice. Khonji did a phenomenal job though

"Doyle had it with Wong"

That door swings both ways. I hear Doyle is no picnic to work with either.
