I am wondering as it was not such a significant role for Norah Jones, why she has accepted to play in such film? I know the director is a very well-known person, but I did not find the movie an interesting one. Except the cinematography and soundtracks in some parts, the movie was absolutely boring and pointless to me. Especially for Norah Jones' character, I could not find a single reason.
shareWell, it is her only role so far. Where would you have her start? If someone said to me that I could have the main part in a movie with Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz I would jump at the chance.
I think her character was the observer of the other character's stories, yet through watching what they were going through she was able to put her own life in perspective and figure out what she really wanted.

if it's true that he approached her it's really odd because although she was photogenic and is a really good singer, she's a pretty terrible actress.

I think the better question is why such a significant role was offered to Norah Jones? I mean look at the rest of the cast. She should have been honored.
shareMaybe that would be a better question as she performed it very poorly, but still neither the movie nor the character got my attention at any point.
