ny cafe used in the film?

I thought the film was so-so, but the locations were great, particularly the dreamy cafe. Does anyone know where it's located? It looks like Soho...

natthecat,
the cafe is called cafe palenchenka. it is in soho on grand street right near thompson. i visited the set one day and saw jude law and wong kar wai. didn't get to speak to them but just looking at jude law made my day......what a beauty. i've never ever seen a more beautiful guy.

is now defunct. It closed probably 3 months ago?

It was a great spot, a great little place to take a date for a quite get-away from SoHo craziness. However, you have to realize the place was more or less gutted for the scene. All the furniture was taken out and temporary furniture was brought in. The lighting was changed, etc.

If memory serves, it was spelled "palacenka"... i think that's right... i mean i do live very VERY close to there ;)

That place was Cafe Palacinka? (that's the correct spelling--I'm Croatian, and my mom used to make palacinke (plural) all the time--they are Croatian crepes). Anyway, I used to work right by there but didn't recognize it.

For some reason, the cafe in the film kinda reminded me of the Cake Shop on the Lower East Side. Plus, didn't Norah Jones get her start at the Living Room? Maybe that's why I was thinking LES.
