Is this movie worth watching?
From the trailer it looks boring as hell.
Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

yes and no. its a good movie but its a little slow at parts. i am not familiar with Norah Jones but she was ok in the movie. But the best parts are Jude Law, Rachel Weiz and Natalie Portman.
shareEven with the good scenes, it's very slow and has some real sad stories.
shareIt is slow and tries too hard to be artsy and introspective. The general feel of the movie reminded me of My Life Without Me with Sarah Polley, Scott Speedman, and Mark Ruffalo...which is, by far, a much more fulfilling film.
I was excited to see Norah Jones' debut performance and, while I never tired of her, the acting was a bit too depressed and blah. A bit more of a personality would have been more convincing. I thought the supporting cast was fantastic though. Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz, David Straithairn...these gems really made the movie worth watching. I'm glad I saw it but it isn't one I'd watch again.
Dear Mary, you who gave birth without sin, teach me how to sin and not give birth.
