hope to get some answers onthese...*possible spoilers*

i'm wondering about the pie's and how they were presented in a negative way...
many times during the film the screen was filled with all this sweetness, as if it came to make you sick of it.
what made it even clearer for me was this one scene where Norah Jones mentions something about pie and we see a pie with many aunts on it.

now, i've seen a couple of the directors prior movies and it is probably well know that he likes using symbolism so i'm just wondering what you think he wanted to say by presenting 'sweets' it such a way?

"The Super-Human is what i am about to teach you."

come on people, the least you can do is try...

it not the blueberry pie's fault...at the least the ants wanted it :D

sometimes u can get wrapped up in life and then miss out on the simple things that matter, jude laws' pies LOL

hmmmm. thats an interesting take. I kinda agree with you. I think that what the director was trying to say that is there must be a balance. If life is too sweet, all the pests will come, and you gotta even it out, by norah jones going on the trip.

Apart from this, there is also a meaning tied directly to the Jeremy/ Elisabeth plot.
Jeremy had a pie out for her every night, just in case she "might pop in and fancy a slice".
This scene where they showed the pie eaten by ants, is I think a sort of a metaphore of Jeremy's waiting on her.
And yes, completely agree that the pie itself was a metaphore of simple pleasures in life which one oftenly misses.
Like Elisabeth 'missed' Jeremy and only came back to him after an year.

When I get sad I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story.
