Jeremy? Arnie/Sue Lynne? Leslie? I love the Memphis chapter with Arnie and Sue Lynne. Their characters are pulled together incredibly well in a condensed amount of time, and you can feel the strain between the two. Strathairn is a natural, brimming with mystery, as an alcoholic balancing his day-time duties as an officer and nightly habits of drinking. His expressions of gloom and rejection are absolutely effortless. Of all the characters in the film, I felt deeply attached to him and would've loved to see more of his character before the accident. Weisz plays Sue Lynne's emotions with exaggeration, but goes about it with striking honesty. Her scene on the curb is fab.
