EWWWWWW

Did anyone else find this movie just one of those horrible things you can't even laugh at? I mean, I've seen some really bad movies, bad to the point of laughing at, but this didnt even qualify. First of all, the puns were death. Honestly, how many jokes about skeletons can they make!! And then there was the Lord of the Rings theme (oh my bad, Lord of the SPRINGS). The ONLY funny part of this movie (at least for me) was Doogal crying when that Gandalf wana-be died. WHAT A STUPID WHINY DOG!! This whole movie just infuriated me. They made it seem so good on the Hoodwinked DVD preview, but NOOOOO it was just painful. WHY WAS HIS VOICE DIFFERENT!!
People, do NOT watch this movie!!!! (sorry if I have offended anyone, but i HATE this movie)

You know, Doogal seems, at first, a CGI flop. However, after seeing this several times in theatres, I've come to realize its subtle genius. Borthwick, Duval, and Passingham used an unusual array of camera shots to really enhance their style of characterization, a technique previously unheard-of in a full length animation. What makes Doogal so particularly worthwhile, however, is its complicated overtones of a Communism vs Democracy theme, evident in the dialogue choices of the main characters. See it again to fully understand Doogal's charm; Move over Forrest Gump!

I was so excited to see this movie. "Magic Roundabout" was my absolute favorite when I was a little girl. I watched it with my son last night. Could not believe they dubbed it with American voices ... and the boy who played Doogal was so annoying. Seriously sounded like he was just reading his lines. My cat could have put more emotion into it. I don't usually get on the Boards to trash movies, but I was so disappointed. I'm going to have to find the original British version. For all I know, it might be a very fun, cute movie. I just couldn't get past Doogal's voice.

Hubby and I fell asleep early on in the movie. My 3 year old stayed awake for the whole thing.
