WHAT?!

I wasn't overly keen on the film version of The Magic Roundabout. It was a little disappointing that they felt the need to saddle it with a generic "save the world" plot but it wasn't a bad film. Perfectly serviceable Bank Holiday entertainment with a highly impressive cast featuring a smorgasboard of British talent including Bill Nighy, Joanna Lumley, Jim Broadbent, and Tom Baker. Then on my usual travels through IMDB, I discovered that Harvey Weinstein (Who, by the way, can kiss my arse for what he tried to do Fanboys) mutilated this film, replacing the divine Joanna Lumley with Whoopi Goldberg, the legendary Tom Baker with somebody called Jon Stewart, Bill Nighy with Jimmy Fallon, and Jim Broadbent with William H. Macy. Why? The core of this film is its incredibly impressive cast and Harvey Weinstein decided to chuck almost all of that in the bin just to try and generate more money and satisfy his own *beep* greed. God knows what he'd have done if he got his hands on Chicken Run or Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Probably Tom Cruise as Wallace or Halle Berry as Ginger (Chicken Run's main character).
