This has one of the best opening scenes ever.


The rest of the movie was a pretty cliche romantic comedy, Grant was good as always, but the opening scene of Pop goes my heart was pulled off perfect, great 80's spoof.

Agreed but you would be surprised how many people just don't get the joke. They think this is supposed to be an actual modern day music video not a retro scene dedicated to the once great past Alex Fletcher had but is sadly gone. The comparison to George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley seems lost on them. Even the syllables match:
Al-ex Fletch-er
An-drew Ridge-ley

Ah hopefully we all will eventually become a 'Happy Has-Been!'

How can you watch that movie and not realize the video was supposed to be from the 80's? It should be obvious regardless of age.

But the opening pales in comparison to the "Pop-Up Video" ending. That's probably my favorite part!
