OMG, way too many to name! What great music the 80s produced...
But just a few off the top of my head (and fresh in my mind b/c my iPod is full of 80s music):

That Was Yesterday (Foreigner)
In a Big Country (Big Country)
Gypsy (Fleetwood Mac)
The Promise (When In Rome)
Human, (Keep Feeling) Fascination, Don't You Want Me (Human League)
Kyrie (Mr. Mister)
Getcha Back (Beach Boys)
Pretty much anything on Michael Jackson's Thriller album

I totally agree about the groups you mentioned at the end. I'd like to add Duran Duran (esp. early to mid 80s), Hall & Oates, Huey Lewis and the News, Journey, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Tina Turner, Styx... Also, Elton John and Billy Joel had some really good songs in the 80s.

How about some One Hit Wonders? Going WAYYYYY back, do you remember You Don't Want Me Anymore by Steel Breeze? That's a video (when MTV actually played videos) that sticks with me for some reason.

Glad to hear that there are people out there who still appreciate 80's music.All those groups you mentioned were awesome. Like what you had written, the list goes on and on and on . Endless practically .....

Funny though, most one hit wonders come from the 80's. I could think of a few from the 80's.

Who could forget The Wonders - That Thing You Do. In that movie there were many one hit wonders.

Not to forget Fool's garden - lemon tree and Los Del Rio - "Macarena" . Both were huge hits in the mid 90's.

Anyway , I have not heard of You Don't Want Me Anymore by Steel Breeze. I will be checking it together with some of the songs that you had mentioned. Thanks a heap!

Oh, and a guilty pleasure of mine (*blush*) is Milli Vanilli. I have to admit that their songs were pretty catchy! :)

LOL about David Soul. I thought I read or heard somewhere that he tried to make it as a singer before he went into acting? Maybe it was a dream I had.

Berlin did have a few more songs besides Take My Breath Away. I actually saw them in an 80s concert with some other 80s bands. But they also did songs like Metro, No More Words, Sex (I'm A...), just to name a few.

Speaking of that particular concert, I just remembered more bands/songs (I knew this would happen...):

Heat of the Moment, Only Time Will Tell (Asia)
Red Skies, Secret Separation, One Thing Leads to Another, and MANY other songs by The Fixx

There are far too many to list here. It would be easier to list 80s songs that I didn't like.

JoLeigh33 mentioned We Didn't Start the Fire. What a great song! My son's grade 5 history teacher based an entire semester on that song.

No it isn't, "Got My Mind Set On You" is probably my favorite George Harrison solo song--brings back such great memories from 1987!

Has anybody mentioned Spandau Ballet yet? Their TRUE album is still one of my favorites to this day. Same with Tears For Fears' Songs From The Big Chair and The Hurting.
