You've sucked me in.... (Or, as I like to say, goody! I love quizzes.)
1) If you could pick one film/couple and make it your real life romance story, what would it be and why?
I can never pick just one. But my primary choice would have to be When Harry Met Sally, because I honestly think that friendship is the best basis for love. Perhaps also Katherine Hepburn/Spencer Tracy (as in Adam's Rib), because I like that kind of clever bickering with the deep undercurrent of love beneath it. Also, a little bit, Bridget Jones's Diary, because I would love to have a man who likes me, just as I am. Or alternatively, have a hot fling with Daniel Cleaver/Hugh Grant.
2) Do you believe in love at first sight? Soul mates? Why?
Love at first sight - no, not really. Attraction, for sure, probably lust as well, but how can you love someone before you really know them? Soulmates - that remains to be seen. I don't think there's just one perfect mate for everyone (I hope there's more than one, but sometimes think there are none), but I do know that there are people you can have a deep connection with. I like what another person said about platonic soulmates, because I agree you can have a special connection with friends as well as lovers.
3) Why do you enjoy watching romance films? Why do they have that 'feel good' factor?
I enjoy watching them because they feed my unrealistic views of love and romance. They feel good because of the happy ending, because love triumphs over whatever travails may be suffered on the road to love!
4) Would you ever settle for anything less than head over heels in love in a relationship/ marriage?
I think that head over heels is a feeling that subsides with time, and hopefully is replaced with a stable, enduring love.
5) Can love conquer anything? Why/Why not?
No way. But it can certainly help.
