If he'd survived, he'd probably be one of those social justice warriors


The faux activist and very annoying kind.

He should've spent his life savings into a professional survival course instead.

I think he quoted some historical figure but he said something like:
"If we admit that human life can be ruled by reason, the possibility of life is destroyed." Another one was something like "I don't like money. It makes people cautious." Those 2 describe his character and goal in a very efficient manner. Maybe survival was never part of his goal, and frankly I partially agree with him, living is far more important. Better live a short but meaningful life than survive a long one just for the sake of surviving*.

*As long as you see it that way. It's kind of like the difference between people who see food as something you survive by and some make sure to survive so they can enjoy food.
