I've been rewatching the series, in the past couple of weeks and just one thing keeps bothering me. I know this has probably been covered multiple times; but how did Tim get to keep the land if he used illegal means to buy it? Shouldn't his conviction for taking the fall for Billy, have voided the land deal? Also I still can't get around to liking Billy. This is the 2nd time only I've gone through the show; but he is such an annoying moronic tool. The only one close to him that was likable, was the way they wrote his wife's character away from not being just a cheap running gag.

If the government hasn't found out he owns land or that he used illegal funds to obtains it they can't seize it. Also, they could have bought the land under someone else's someone else's name. They chopped up a few stolen cars. Law enforcement frequently overlooks these sort of things when it comes to small time crooks.

Billy never became one of my favorites, but I do think they did a good job of fleshing him out in the last two seasons. It's Mindy, however, that benefited the most from the higher profile on the show.
