The darkness

I didn't see this in the theater, I bought it on DVD. Was this film originally so dark when it was 1st run, or did that happen when they transfered it to digital media? Watching this at home, on a decent size tv, with the lights off & I can barely make anything out on screen. If it was shot this way, wow, that's gotta be the most unprofessional film production since Ed Wood.

the trailers had the perfect darkness setting, i saw it in theatres and it was literally THAT DARK i couldnt see *beep*

You Panicked, and your weakness has cost the lives of three others!

Godzilla was like this too. The night scenes are hard to see.

reply

No. Godzilla wasn't like that in the theatre. It was the blu ray release.

I tried setting my TV to "movie" mode & it helped. The dark scenes grayed up a little bit, but the added brightness helped better than manually adjusting the brightness.

@boat WB should've reported back all blu rays and fix the problem and re-release it. Too bad AVP2 was like that all the time except for in the trailers.

That's ok, from what I COULD see, it turned up to be a pretty cheesey movie anyway. Cool concept, but they sorta turned the story into a teen slasher flick. Not terrible, but it could have been a lot better. This film really cheapened the franchise of both them.

Okay if you couldn't see Godzilla in the Cinema there's a SERIOUS problem the guys who set up the movies in the theatre.
And the Blu-Ray has the exact same Picture, just change your TV Settings to better suit it. Put it on Vivid or Dynamic. With AVPR it was just... horribly made. Like I could still get the general idea of what was going on but it was so jumbled and dark that it was almost impossible to keep up with what was happening.

i saw the movie in theaters and everything was clear to my eyes. the movie was not as dark for me and i saw it twice that week.

the trailers also showed how bright it was in comparison to the blu ray

i think Fox made the movie dark on purpose, i dont know if they were embarrased of the reviews or what but the movie was not that dark before the dvd release

the studio did it to hide the bad effects or something
