I don't get that 'three cuts' thing.
To my knowledge there are only the theatrical version, and the extended unrated cut, or am I missing something?

It may be referring to the original workprint? I know there were entire storylines and characters that the dopey directors cut out. The young black kids at the hospital, encountering the Predalien, were some of them.
shareNow I'm wondering as well. I was about to get the 2-pack of AvP 1&2 on Blu-ray, and a reviewer on amazon said the unrated edition on Blu-ray is missing scenes that are in the unrated edition on DVD!

The only unrated version available on blu-ray is the american zone 1.
shareCorrect. There's the theatrical release, the unrated blu-ray and whatever the print was that they used for advanced screenings. There was a lot of deleted footage, that they didn't include in the unrated cut, or the deleted scenes section.
They dropped entire characters out of the final cut.
Thanks. I remember a picture with the black kid. As it is the movie already suffers from too many (and underdevelopped) character arcs in my opinion, but I wonder what the firt cut was like. . .

the original cut was much brighter than what we got. The trailers are proof of that.
either the crappy directors or the studio decided to make everything dark to hide the movie or something.
