Part 1 was so much better

It's night and day. Part 1 had atmosphere, suspense and was very creepy. You never knew what was going to happen next. Part 2 is much more predictable and the suspense is gone.

2 had its moments and it was'nt a bad film,it was entertaining but agreed how it paled in comparison to the original and was very mediocre in places as if they were trying to change it into a dark comedy at times.With better writing they could have continued on the story from 1 of the survivor trying to get the hostel shut down rather than do basically a copy of the 1st 1.

Part 1 was much better than 2 but at least 2 was way way better than part 3.

Part one was definitely better than part two in my opinion but part two was a completely different movie than the first one. I felt that part two was more of a really dark comedy where everything that was happening was really *beep* up yet I still found myself laughing at times. I'd barely put part 2 under the genre of horror, compared to the first. Either way, I think they are both great films, which are unfortunately way underrated and misunderstood.

Hate to be repetitive, but the same thing was done with The Collector and The Collection.

You mean like turning the second one into a parody or comedy? I didn't notice that when I saw The Collection. Maybe I missed something?

But I didn't really like The Collection, while The Collector is one of my favorites.

And Hostel did it before The Collector... if that's what you're saying.
