I agree. Although this movie would have pretty much sucked anyway...

. . . being of the age of forty i too am somewhat anti-cgi, especially when it comes to ripoffs of old-school style horror extravaganzas. however the cgi in the rage seems to have been mostly done with a thoughtful knowing nod to classic horror films. for instance, some of the vulture cgi work felt like stop-motion and that felt good. whether this was deliberate or not i don't know, but it did work for me. and other cgi gore scenes were so uniquely perverted it didn't matter that is was digital because it was so cool. and (spoiler) the cgi blood shooting out of the decapitated doctor butcher m.d. at the conclusion had an awesome 1974 look to it, like the fake blood in earthquake when the elevator went crashing down to the bottom floor. one thing i will say: when the winnebago blows up it would've been cool if kurtzman used a miniature model to get that complete and total '70s grindhouse feel. wicked show . . .

Agreed, CGI gore ruins what could be a good movie. Stupid studio's using too much of it lately. It's so obvious it's CGI it just makes the scene scream "fake fake fake".
