Well, you can't please everyone...

The guy that posted about whether or not the viewer "got it" was absolutely right. This movie wasn't meant to be viewed as a blockbuster. It is, in its heart, a B-Movie and wears that tag proudly. It's the kind of movie you'd see at a drive-in back in the Seventies, one that just goes all out to scare you or gross you out or just make you laugh. Yes, it was independently produced and didn't have a ton of money behind it, so what? All ANY movie ever really HAS to do is be entertaining. You don't go into a movie like this expecting GONE WITH THE WIND, you go into it expecting to have a good time, and that's what THE RAGE offers, with no apologies.

If you don't get it, you don't get it. If you DO get it, you'll love it.

You hit the nail on the head, sir... Couldn't agree more. I had fun with this movie.

I agree 100% In fact, there were many many scenes where I can just imagine the violence may have been a little too intense and the director said, "let's add some camp to take some of the sting out" because it is an over the top violent seriously grotesquely graphic movie. Like I'm sure they could've made the guy in the beginning look more menacing, or give him the empty look of a zombie, which I always found terrifying. But no, he looks like the Toxic Avenger (in much better makeup) so it remains campy and funny enough (with enough references to thrill any horror fan) to take some of the edge off. It reminds me more of Terror Planet or Re-Animator, just not nearly as good. But they spared no expense on the T&A and the blood and effects. Damn.
But I admire the hell out of it. I dabble in filmmaking and I WISH I could make a movie like this. Great Saturday night popcorn movie.

..everyone knows that 'camp' is the new 'blood & guts'!

I think people just want to bit*h about something for the sake of b*tching.

I mean, it's not like movie had some sophisticated title so you weren't aware of what type of a movie it would be.

It's called "THE RAGE" for fu*k sake, and it has Misty Mundae (Erin Brown) as lead. What the hell were you expecting?

You know, I never get those people who watch something called "Sharknado" then complain how bad, dumb, silly and over the top it is. Are you serious? It's called "SHARKNADO"!
