David's Mom and Sisters wanted him to leave?

Wow... That is a bad sign for Shannon. If it were just the mom I would say it's just a bitter MIL but his sisters too? If everyone is telling you to leave someone it looks very bad on the person they want you to leave.

I don't think it's right for any family member to dictate who their sibling, son, daughter, mother or father should or should not be with. Regardless of whether or not the person is psycho like Shannon.

It's really none of their business and pretty selfish of the family member.

Right. It's David's choice alone. It's so ugly when the family meddles.

I have a feeling Shannon makes it very difficult for David to see his other family and the kids to see them as well. Probably with the mistress they felt like they finally had their son/brother back and for all we know David might have really seemed happier as well. I imagine it must be hard to watch your son or brother constantly being beaten down like Shannon does to David and now they have to watch it being done to him on tv. Still even though it probably would have been better for all the adults involved, Shannon included, they were still wishing for the breakup of the childrens family. It is really sad that the grandmother went on tv and said the things she did while ignoring her grandchildren performing and then to make matters worse Shannon basically kicking them out when the kids probably wanted them to stay and making the embarrassing scene and forcing David to have that awkward conversation with them on tv. It really seems like neither woman can look past themselves and put those kids 1st and David is too much of a wimp to stand up to his wife or his mother and fight for his kids.

Nawww...I call bullsh*t on that. What's hard to watch is a man that feels beaten down and unhappy in his marriage be such a chicken sh*t that he doesn't have the guts to leave on his own.

No one, I don't care how bad it gets, can push you into an affair. You either want it or you don't. He can't blame his wife for not being able to keep it zipped or for being so spineless he can't pack his sh*t leave. Just walk away.

Yea, it's no one's fault but his own that he doesn't have a backbone and either could't walk or couldn't address the issues in his marriage with his spouse. He's weak as *beep*.

i seriously can't believe he had the balls to take this mistress to his family on an ongoing basis. i can't believe they stayed together.

Right! He's a sociopath he obviously thought Shannon would never find out I'm too good at this. If I were Shannon knowing he had family dinners with the mistress and his family id tell him to get the eff out! I think Shannon was worried about image a failed marriage a divorce etc he has all the money right?

David was and probably still is, incredibly unhappy in his marriage. Not only did he bring his mistress to dinner with his mother and sister, but he gave his wedding ring to his daughter to give back to Shannon. He was done with his marriage. And he was happy - maybe for the first time in 10 years.

Shannon is not only a nutcase - as easily seen by all of her crazy antics and hospital air in her home, but she drinks a lot. She's also vindictive. I remember on a season past when Vicki passed up an invitation to go to dinner with other castmates and instead had dinner with Shannon - who at the time was the outcast of the show. Vicki was there for Shannon when Shannon needed her. But now Shannon won't forgive or at least move on with Vicki.

She didn't sleep with David - for how many years we don't know - but when she first came on the show, she was sleeping separately because she stayed up late and David got up at 4:00 am.

Plus, she doesn't work or in anyway contribute to the family fiances, but she likes to live large. The company that David owns is actually jointly owned with his father. I read this online. So perhaps David has a better relationship with his father and his father's new family? I don't know but I do know that he obviously also loves his mother and sister. Shannon must have thrown poison into that particular family's dynamics early on, or David wouldn't have felt comfortable bringing his mistress home to them.

Ding! I think we have a winner!
