Haha. How David could seduce any woman with that nasally, whiny voice of his is amazing to me!!!

I experience such schadenfreude whenever someone brings up the affair. The dejected look on David's face says it all. He wishes he had a time machine so he could go back before the affair--not because he's remorseful, but because he got caught and now has to cowtow to Shannon for the rest of his life.

I dont get Shannon... There will be an embarrassing situation where someone will bring up the affair or make a comment and rather than change the subject so it gets less attention and airtime, Shannon will scream, cry, run around and cause a scene and milk it for all she can. It is almost like she gets off on people bringing it up. Shannon took a night that was supposed to be about her kids and instead of being the bigger person and realizing it wasnt the time or place she made it all about her and didnt let the kids spend more time with their family and made a huge screaming scene and as if that wasnt enough to ruin the night for the kids then it was time to sit in the car and have that weird inappropriate chat on tv with the kids where they had to bring the kids into the situation. Shannon should have held her tongue and let the family stay no matter what they were saying and left her feelings in check. Then at a later time without kids or cameras she should have confronted her MIL (without David) and brought up the issue one on one. What the MIL did was horrible but Shannon just made things 100 times worse.

I completely agree!! I couldn't believe she made that huge scene. It was just embarrassing. But I think it's just like you said - she almost gets off on it.

Shannon is not my favorite but I have to say I do feel for her. She is trying to get over the affair, with David's help. Just to make certain she doesn't, here comes David's mother, talking about the affair, blaming Shannon, and saying it to Shannon's friends! It was completely inappropriate. I would be upset too. Mind you, I wouldn't have made things worse, but I wouldn't have invited that hag upstairs to continue that behavior.

I would not have allowed "family" to stay and speak about that subject either. If family wants to disrespect my husband and me, they can do so elsewhere. "Go ahead family, talk about the intimate details of my marriage. Disparage me for my husband having an affair. Share your uninformed opinions with my friends who are strangers to you. Let them know you cared more for the mistress than you do for me. Do all this in front of my children and please, allow me to pay for your dinner."
Not happening in my universe. That sad sack mother-in-law needed to leave.

Shannon is stretched pretty thin right now when you add to this night the fact they are moving and the garbage Vicki is spreading about her. As I wrote, she is not my favorite but I am cutting her some slack right now.

I think Shannon needs a good divorce attorney. I thought it was great that they didn't give up on their marriage until the stuff came out about David's mother and sister having a friendship with his mistress. And that David's father also had an affair. Now I think they are swimming upstream.

Either that or David's family needs a good therapist. Even if his mom doesn't like Shannon, on what planet would it be a good idea to hook up with a woman who is married and has kids herself?

Shannon is highly emotional, but David really cut deep by bringing his girlfriend around his family.
