Did Meghan say...

...they were thinking of naming their little girl Callow? She must not know what it means.

reply

Yep, that's what I heard. I thought there was going to be a talking head talking about it.

reply

I hope Meghan received a dictionary at her baby shower lol

reply

I missed her saying that, but I'm glad you posted about it because I have to admit I didn't know the meaning of it. I learned a new word (which I love). It's never too late to learn new things. LOL. I don't think Meghan should name her daughter Callow.

reply

I think she said Hallow!! I guess I misheard. Either way- BLAH!!

reply

Actually, she does say Hallow, not Callow. Just checked.

reply

That's what I thought to. Either way....neither choice is a great idea. Good thing they have more time to think about it lol

reply

In another article, she mentioned Watson as a potential.

reply

I never heard of Hallow or Callow as a name. Here is something about Hallow, though. I guess she won't be the only person in history with that name.

Hallow
Today's name: Hallow

Pronunciation: HAL-low

Potential nicknames: Hal, Halo, Hallie, Allie

Origin: Old English, meaning "to make holy," "to consecrate," and "to believe sacred." It is important to know that hallowed means "sacred," or "holy."

Popularity: In 2010 and 2011 there were no babies named Hallow, and it has always been a very rare name, if ever given at all.

Fun fact: (1) See my last post about Samhain for info on All Hallow's Eve and All Hallow's Day. It is a time to remember loved ones who have passed on, therefore naming your baby Hallow could make a connection to honoring someone who is no longer with you. (2) Joining other more popular names like Harlow, Halle, and Haley, Hallow will fit right in. If you're worried about the meaning being too pretentious, keep in mind all the babies named Angel, Honor, Princess and the like. (3) This name might be immediately associated with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which could be good or bad for you, but J.K. Rowling did not invent the word and it has stronger ties to All Saint's Day. This name might also be confused with "hollow," and even moreso with the movie "Sleepy Hollow," but the two words are not related.

She's going to be teased in school.

reply

What comes to mind is Shallow Hallow

I thought they said she was due in late December, or January? Maybe it's early December, but definitely not this early.

reply

I believe you're right but I cant remember the exact date either!! lol

I thought she said December 5.

reply

Yall are correct, she said on the reunion Dec. 5th. I could had sworn she said Sept. around the time Jeff Lewis' daughter was born. Which maybe his was Oct?
