I cried at the end of the season finale.
When Tracy is talking to Liz in the strip club. I don't know. It just kind hit me like a ton of bricks.
Anyone else?
But my question is why did the show only get 12 episodes?

The scene that got me was when Jenna was singing 'Rural Juror' and the started showing flashbacks, the strip club scene was pretty sad too but other than that, the finale left me with a big smile on my face. I think it ended beautifully.

Yeah, the most poignant thing was when Jenna sings the lyric "These were the best days of my .... life." It felt real; I'm sure most of the people working on the show, loved being there you know. Talk about a dream job!
shareYeah, you could tell that was all Jane, she was a bit of a mess during the filming of the last ep lol.

I'm with you about the whole goodbye scene between Tracy and Liz. I shed a few tears.
shareI totally agree with you. Not every show has to start promisingly and get progressively horrible. If I watch an episode from season 3 1 and 6 in the same day I cannot pick out what season they're from without looking up the storyline. Quality.
The finale is a testament to the series and how to make good television.

IF you're free you'll NEVER see the walls
The part with Tracy was moving, but it didn't affect me as much as you. I cried twice during the finale: First when Jack gave the network to Kenneth. Kenneth's reaction was so exuberant and joyous it brought me to tears. Second was Jenna singing "I'll never forget you, Rural Juror". Knowing this was the end and I wouldn't see these people again broke my heart.

Ain't no shame in tearing up. The scene between Liz and Jack while he was on the boat hit me the hardest, when he was trying to find a way of saying "I love you" while avoiding the actual words.
shareI've got to go find my bliss- which for once doesn't stand for Beautiful Ladies in Short Shorts.
shareIt's silly but it also the strip club scene that may have got me slightly emosh.
shareI almost choked up at a tiny part: after Jack starts to drive the boat away and Liz turns around and starts to walk away. For a second it looks like they are truly separating and the music does a poignant 2 note melody before Jack calls out to her again. Also during the song where they started doing flashbacks of all the characters while the lyrics were I'll never forget you rural juror (lol)
shareThe season finale ended with Liz becoming a parent to 2 narcissistic kids once again.
Remember Kevin's daughter, the wonderful kid that Liz was on a "date" with? That kind of kid would have made Liz's life complete, but those 2 narcissistic kids are just going to be the same thing all over again for Liz. The personality of the kids determines a parent's happiness to a degree. While Kevin's daughter would have made Liz and Criss happy, I can see their lives will be hell with Tracy 2.0 and Jenna 2.0. At least TGS lasted a couple of years, while those kids are going to be with them in the long haul.
In a way, I found the finale depressing.
Liz and Jack not seeing each other on a daily basis is sad.
