so are we supposed to believe the little brother had cancer too?


The reverend said that strong, healthy people wouldn't see the ghosts. That stayed true for the most part, except for when the little brother saw the thing when he was hiding inside the dumbwaiter thing. From what I recall, that was the only time anyone other than Matt or the reverend saw anything. I'm guessing that was just a plot hole, but maybe his little brother has cancer too!

he never said that only people with cancer could see ghosts, only that people near death are more sensitive to that sort of thing.

Most people believe (at least the people I know) that ghosts can reveal them selves if they wish to, but I think for the movie it was more Matt could see them even then they were not doing harm but when there powers manifested the rest of the family was able to see them.
