I would have liked this ending better... *spoilers afoot*


I think the ending would have been better if he died in the fire. I'll admit, it's a bit morbid, but I think it would have stuck with the viewers better. Jonah died in a fire, so it would make sense that Matt would too. Plus, when he was pushing them out of the house and screamed "I'm already dead!" I took that in a bit more of a literal sense, like he was practically dead and the only reason he was hanging on was so he could take the ghosties down with him. And I get that it was based on a true story, but apparently they strayed really far from it so why not throw that in too?

And also...

Kyler Gallner played the hottest pale, sickly, cancer kid I have ever seen.

I think that would be better, too. It would show him sacrificing for everyone else... a hero's ending. The whole movie was building up to him dying, and then it was like "And then he got all better! The End!"
