gerarld buttler had begun to become a big hit after the 300 and especially among us greeks!why did he chose this movie as the next step to his carrer after 300???why did lionsgate decided to give this movie to tnt???have you read any of buttler's statements about this movie???what went wrong???

There is no way for the film makers to control what the distributor does with the movie unless Lion's Gate did not fulfill their contract. I think the TNT deal had more to do with Lion's Gate's finances than it did with the overall quality of the film. Allowing for some implausibility, I still felt the suspense despite the movie getting cut up in 100 pieces for commercials. I'm still looking forward to the DVD release.

I don't think that it's Gerry's fault. You know that the guy doesn't like repeating himself (don't you remember? When he did 300, everybody in the biz knows him as the-guy-who-played-the-Phantom) and I think it's his style so the audience would not get bored of him (imagine, 3 films of Tom Cruise who doesn't seem to transform in every film he makes? You can still say, 'That's Tom') and probably to keep us guessing on his next move. I just hope Gerry won't get into turkey movies (Timeline for example) with talentless actors (the guy he co-starred with in Timeline for example. No, I won't name who that actor is) or he's going to start the vicious flop-movie cycle again.
