I thought they were going to spend a weekend in the country with his boss o something like that, that's why they both were in the car and left their child with a nanny; but it turns out that he was going to meet his lover in a cabin...where was she (Maria Bello) going then?...I don't get it...

The hubby was going to spend a weekend at the country house of his boss (which is what he told the wife, but was actually going to spend time with his mistress). Wife was going to spend a weekend with a girlfriend, and hubby was dropping her off on the way. Considerate, ain't he?

Am I anywhere near the imaginary cliff?
